Land Rover Repair: Turbo Hoses, vantage point, td5

G'day John,

I have been told that I have to change the two turbo hoses on my disco td5 as they are too soft, I want to know wether this is a good point to start with because the car some time looses power at arround 110km/h and sound like somethink is blocked, I've checked the engine, gear box, turbo solenoid all Ok! need some advice on that. Thanks

Hello Farhad,

loss of power while cruising at 110 km/h should not be caused by soft turbo hoses.  Something else must be causing this problem: denial of fuel, oxygen, spark is one area, drivetrain problems and even brakes are other areas to examine.

So unless those hoses are so soft that they collapse, which I doubt, you should ask for another opinion.

From my vantage point, I'm not sure exactly where to begin but I know that soft hoses should not do this.
