How do I run a diagnostic on my 99 Disco II to verify why my check engine light is on without bringing it to the dealer?

I just recently had the dealer reset my ABS and TC...

Also if there is a way to run this diagnostic is there a listing of codes somewhere on the internet??  Thanks!

Hi Conroy,

in order to diagnose check engine codes, you'll need a OBDII reader.  You can get them from any PEP Boys auto shop or Advance Auto for around $150 to $200.  Sometimes they are even on sale!

It is a great investment and will save you more in the long run.
