Land Rover Repair: 2004 Discovery Transmission Problem, smooth transition, transmission problem

Question
I have just 5500 miles on my Discovery  2004 and the transmission is acting up. When the vehicle shifts from 2nd to 3rd, on occasion I feel a very noticable bump, hesitation and a lack of smooth transition into the next gear. It occurs mainly from a dead stop when accelerating up a slight grade. My Discovery does not shift smoothly thru all 4 gears , but especially from 2nd to 3rd. I realize it is under warranty and I will have it checked on the first 7500 mile inspection, but do you have any suggestions what may be the problem so I can speak intelligently with the service department?

Answer
If you feel the truck isnt working properly the best thing to do is bring it in right away! Then ask if some one will drive with you. Then just ask them if they think its the trans or some thing else.Dont try to tell the doctor what the problem is just give him all the symtons and let them tell you whats wrong. It may be the trans and maybe some thing else.I have a 2004 D2 in the family and i drive it and shifts very smooth thru the gears.Good luck let me know where you bring it im all ways interested on how diffrent dealers handle things, and having a love for them i get upset when people are not handled properly.
