Land Rover Repair: 2000 Discovery water sound in dash board, water sound, dash board

Question
Hi,

I have a bit of a problem with my Discovery. The last year we have had our regular oil changes through Land Rover and had it serviced for it's 45,000 mile checkup. We have not had any problems with our Discovery until the radiator was replaced in July. We were told that we had a leak in the radiator so the Land Rover in Colorado replaced it. We moved from Colorado to Florida and had no problems during the move. Well, about a month later we had noticed at a stop light that the Discovery was overheating.  We had it in for the 45,000 mile check up on Nov. 9th and it states on the reciept that they RENEW THE NJTAKE GASKET FOR LEAKING COOLANT FROM THE INTAKE AND P\TEST THE SYSTEM LEV ENGINE.  So they said at Land Rover they replaced the Intake Manifold.  Well, I left and the Discovery was running fine and then I noticed that the thermostat was overheating again.  I put a mixture of water and antifreeze in the reserve.  Well, everytime I come to a stop light or stop I hear the swishing sound coming from the dashboard on the passenger side.  So, I called Land Rover and they got me in and they said it was the water pump.  So, they replaced the water pump.  This was a week before my warranty expired and a week later the water sound was back.  So, I called Land Rover and they told me there was air in the system.  I decided not to take the Discovery back to that dealership and went to a mechanic that a friend referred me to.  He told me that there is a clog in the evaporator and that the evaporator needs to be removed and that the system isn't draining right or there was a clog to the evaporator.  He quoted me a price for labor and parts and it comes to around $600. So, two totally different answers...  This was a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know who to trust on the Discovery so my sisters dad had me get my car to a mechanic he trusted and he said that there was air in the system and fixed it.......  Well, a week from it  being fixed by bleeding the system the water swishing sound is back and this mechanical buzzing noise, that sounds like you are adjusting your seat happens when I come to a stop.  The sounds disapperared whenever Land Rover and the mechanic friend initially "supposedly" fixed it. Tonight, my Discovery started to rise above to the red again. My husband is on active duty in the military and I don't know what I should do?  Should I take the Discovery back to the Mechanic who told me the evaporater needs to come out and the clog in the tube needs to be unclogged? I am moving to Chicago from Florida in a couple of weeks and really need to have a safe Discovery.  I pray you can give me some insight on what my Discovery needs so I will have a safe drive.

Thank you for your time,
Emily

Answer
I cant believe there would be a clogin system.air is possible.the question i would ask is were is it from.Is it from a leak you have that they missed.or is it from several mechanics that cant finish job completly.i would make sure its not leaking first.smallest leak over time will turn to problems.also it takes alot to fully bleed system of air, some times need to tilt front of truck up slightly,or fill it get it hot and then check after cooling down.
