Land Rover Repair: ABS pump continues to run, landrover discovery, battery terminal

Question
even though I shut off the engine. I was driving in some snow this morning and I slid a little bit and the ABS kicked in and the light never went back off and the pump continues to run after I shut it off and pull the key. I disconnected the battery thinking it would reset itself somehow but it did not and I had to leave the battery terminal disconnected.
Any idea what could be the problem? Stuck relay?
Thanks in advance. I'm glad I found this forum.
It is a 95 Landrover Discovery with 160,00 miles.

Answer
Hi Justin,

sounds like a ceased ABS pump.  You could try disconnecting the fuse to the ABS to see if it turns the pump off.  Unfortunately, you'll need LR service to repair this problem.

F5 30amp fuse in engine compartment is for ABS.  There are two others in the satelite boxes within the Disco (see your manual) but I think F5 should do the trick.

You should have no trouble driving to your dealer with ABS off, your brakes will work like normal non-ABS vehicles.

Best of luck,
