Land Rover Repair: parts, rover models, raybestos

John, aftermarket parts vs. original parts....original Rover parts are expensive.  Would using after market parts be a issue?  I'm pretty decent doing repairs other than internal engine.  Should I be hesitant on working on a Rover.

Sorry also if any which years are good for the Discovery and the Range Rover models.

Hi Larry,

I am always on the lookout for aftermarket parts for my Disco.  More are available for series I than series II but that will change over time.  Some parts from BMW and Volkswagen (electrics) can fit onto my Disco I.  Bosch makes electrics for Landrover and both price and quality are better than OEM.  Monroe has shocks for our Disco, Raybestos has the brake pads, calipers and rotors.  Just keep digging into the internet and start a catalog of parts and resources.
