Land Rover Repair: Discovery rear view mirror, rear view mirror, atlanticbritish

I have a 1996 Discovery with a self dimming rear view mirror.  The dimming fluid has recently leaked out, leaving a less than clear view.  I would like to clean the inter surface of the mirror.  Can the mirror be dissembled and how?

Hello David,

I went thru my repair manuals and did not see any way you can work around this mirror problem.  I've look on some other sites and no one has any info that covers what you want to do.  

You might want to try Atlantic British (www.atlanticbritish.com) to see if they can help.  I would think that a new mirror is in order.  Atlantic British could provide one for much less than the dealer.  Its possible you could even upgrade your mirror to add compass and exterior temp readings.
