Lexus Repair: stereo problems with Lexus LS 400, lexus ls 400, stock radio

Hi there!

So I see that you're an expert on this page =) I've been having problems with my stereo. When I first start my car, the radio and CD works fine but once i start driving the sound disappears and can only be faintly heard if the knob is turned completely up. This happens all the time when I first start my car.

This has really been bothering me since I need music to get my day going. I hope you have the answers i need to make my day better! Thanks for your help..

The rheostat control to the radio, the amplifier, or the wiring to them is probably broken.
Unless you find the malfunction & fix it with used aprts, It's most likely cheaper to get a good quality aftermarket head unit & use it to replace the stock radio, amplifier & CD changer with that. Sound better too.
