Lexus Repair: acceleration problem/weak, toyota solara, start the car

Hello, i have a problem with my 99 toyota solara v6 sle 102k. When i accelerate from start, the car seems to drive slow and chokes a little but then drives fine. My mechanic said that three ofthe six cylinders are not working (1,3,5). The timing belt was recently checked but he said the belt is installed correctly. What can be the problem? Thank you

Hello Alex, Hard to say what is going on. It is not a problem I have seen. I would first start by checking to see if there are any computer codes stored. The 1,3,5 cylinders are all on one side of the engine. Do you have any mice problems? I have seen them chew through wires and things.
