Lexus Repair: AC fan not changing speeds, toyota lexus, lexus es 300

Question
QUESTION: I have a 97 Lexus ES 300.  I am having an issue with my AC.  When I turn it on, the AC comes on, but it will not change speed.  If I manually change it or set it to AUTO, the speed of the fan BLOW will not change.  On the AC display it says it is on full blast, but it obviously doesn't feel any different than the lowest setting.

Thanks and any help will be beneficial,
Matthew

ANSWER: It sounds like the blower control module is bad.  If you look to the right of the gas pedal above the carpet you should be able to see it.  If you want to know what it looks like google camry blower resistor.  Should be a pretty simple operation for you.  Please follow up and let me know if this works for you!

QUESTION: I changed the blower resistor (not as easy as I thought to get to) and there is no change.  Is there something else I can try or should I bring it to a tech?

Thanks,
Matthew

Answer
I would before you spend any more money trying parts out.  You might look for an independent Lexus or Toyota shop in your area, they are usually close to the quality and accuracy of a dealership at a much lower cost.

Another option is to get a multimeter and test the circuit.  You'll need access to the repair manual.  The best I can do is give you a link to a link where you can download.  I got this off of lexusownersclub.com.

Very sorry that didn't fix the problem, the best way to diagnose this is by testing, so let me know if I can help you further.
