QuestionYes, thank you. Although with someone else help I was able to detect a major problem. After taking off the cap of it and tried to start the van for another troubleshooting, we found out that the sensor wouldn't spin at all. I think there is a problem with the timing belt, since the two are directly connected. What do you think?

While driving on the freeway my Mercury Villager 1997 suddenly die. The DTC device gave a PO340 Code as a result of the test. A month ago the whole computer was replaced. Is this problem connected to a bad computer, or it just a coincidence? What should I do first? Is the camshaft sensor hard to replace and where is located. Thank you very much and Happy Holidays!!!!

Did you find the sensor inside the distributor? Did it fix the issue?

The Camshaft Position Sensor is located on the top RH front of engine, inside of the distributor.
I have a horrible picture of locations. I will need your email address if you want it.
AnswerOh no! Sorry about that Antonio. Yes, that is a broken timing belt. I have full instructions for replacement. If you would like them, let me have your e-mail and I'll send it over as an attachment. Timing belt is about $75 but make sure you get the tensioner too.
