Lincoln/Mercury Repair: 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis LS, mercury grand marquis, starter solenoid

Question
Pete,

My husband has been working on removing the starter/solenoid on my car for two days in the snow and cold.  One day it needed a jump, the next it would not start at all, and now the lights and all willnot work.  We are hoping that the 187.00 for the starter/solenoid are all that it needs. How does he get that dang thing off?  It is that bolt at the top that he can't see that is causing all the trouble.  If you can help, you deserve a BIG hug!
