Lincoln/Mercury Repair: 1992 Grand Marquis Headlights/Starting, mercury grand marquis, grand marquis

Hi,

My mom got her '92 Mercury Grand Marquis home after fighting some snow and ice while running errands and when she turned it off the headlights wouldn't go off.  I initially unhooked the battery cables while I tried to figure the problem out.  Now, the headlights won't turn off AND the car won't start.  All of the car lights are bright and there is no dimming when the ignition is turned on.  There has got to be some kind of relationship with the 2 problems, I just can't imagine what it could be.  Thanks for any help.  Mark

How long did the lights stay on? Is the headlight sentery (delay) turned on accidently. I never turn mine off. This can cause the headlights to not shut of for up to 5 or 6 minutes. Make sure the car is fully in park. Try starting in neutral if you think it is. These could oddly be related, I highly doubt it though. Try these and let me know.
