  Dear Mr. Dinger
I was driving the car and floored the gas pedal to pass a car. Right after that my "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" came on. Afew miles down the road the car started surging like it was going to stall.  I took it to Auto Zone and they got a code that said"throttle position sensor gear ratio #2 and #3 incorrect. what can be done to correct this? As you know this car is not worth much since it is 10 years old but I love the car and would like to get fixed if not to much money.
  Please advise          Jerry Irwin

Answer
Hi Jerry,

Just had this this week. Inspect the wiring from the TPS, if found good replace the TPS. Review past post for part numbers. This will clear up the other codes. To clear the codes, remove both battery cables and hold them together for 10 seconds. This resets EVERYTHING, clock and radio too.
