Lincoln/Mercury Repair: 1999 Mercury Cougar Turn Signal Problem, turn signal switch, 1999 mercury cougar

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I'm hoping you can help me determine my turn signal problem.  The signals, hazard lights and horn quit working, I called the dealership and ordered a new turn signal switch and had it it replaced but within 2 days they quit working again.  Any ideas or instructions?

Hi Jennifer,

Those functions are on one fuse in your car. There is an obvious short probably in the steering column. When you replaced the switch you disturbed the short for a short time and then it made contact again when everything settled. I suggest taking your car to an auto electronics specialist or you'll be fighting this war for a long time. It's odd, but my shop is full of wierd electronic problems this week.
