Lincoln/Mercury Repair: wheel bearing hub assembly, wheel bearing hub assembly, hub assemblies

hi i recently ran into an unexpected issue with my suv. i have a 2000 ford explorer now i know your not a ford expert but i know the mountaineer is very similar to to the explorer any how =) i am changing the wheel bearing hub assemblies and was curious as to whether or not the 3 bolts behind the the bearing that hold it in place require any special tools to remove the bolts holding the assembly in place...thanx

Hi Joe,

I mean to look at this for you today, but got busy in my real life. Please be patient and I will have this answer for you tomorrow. I believe it is a torx for those, found at any hardware or auto parts store. Can't remember the size, but I'll know tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.
