Lincoln/Mercury Repair: Gearshift stuck, gear shift, town car

Gearshift is stuck in park, has been acting up a bit but with wiggling and hard press on break, would free up and go into various gears.  Now will not move at all.  Any thts?

this could a bad shiht or gear shift senser i would try takeing the neg cable off the battery for 5 min hook it back up and see if it resets.
If it does not then the is danage in the shifter and would have to be  rebult by a colluim shop.

Or a shop who knows what they are doing the price of a rebuld around 500 dollors
