Mazda Repair: 1993 mazda 929 rpm problems, spark plug wires, vacuum leak

Question
on my 929 i just replaced the ignition coil my distributor cap my spark plug wires my spark plugs and all these parts needed to be replaced asap so i did but when i finished i took it for a test spin to see how it ran and it ran real good for a few miles the i notices my rpm gauge was not working and my car was idleing little high like id say between 1800 and 2200 rpms give or take, higher than normal. but im not sure what could have caused it. if you could help me out i could really use it. now in haveing to leave to go back to the army in the next few days so if ou could get back to me asap thank you.

Answer
i'm not sure how you made your repairs but if your distributor is out just a bit you may have advanced the ignition just a little to cause it to idle high. also make just the spark plug wires are all in the right spot. if you removed any intake parts look for a vacuum leak or extra air geting into the trottle
