Mazda Repair: 2000 B2300 4 cyl, rev limiter, rpm

Truck has a miss at high rpm. Acts just like a rev limiter. 1 code,p0304. Idles fine & if you keep rev's under 2500 or so & let it shift, it does OK. If you get on it hard it acts just like a rev limiter. Do these eng. have a limiter that could be bad?

the codes is a misfire one number 4 i'd check the plugs and wires going to it first and start there make sure your getting good strong spark, and compression, a misfire can fill that way and even fill like a bad shift in the tranny. the faster the engine rotates (rpm) the more the cyclinders cycle.
