Mazda Repair: 1991 Miata wont start, broken wires, surface change

Question
My 91 Miata will not start. When I turn the key I get nothing.
My battery was at 12.5 volts and I put a charger on for a bit but nothing.
I have good headlights, my radio works and my interior lights work, just nothing on the key.
It has ran good and started good until now.
My battery is 1.5 years old and all posts and contacts are clear and clean.
Yesterday it started barely but then it started normal after I drove it for a bit and then today nada.
I don't drive the car all the time and it isn't winter driven so I have no corrosion on the car.
Any pointers will be greatfully appreciated.

Answer
if it's making a clicking noise when you try and start it and the battery is good it maybe a starter. remove any surface change from the battery before testing it. if the starter and battery are good start looking at your main power wires for lose or broken wires.
