Mazda Repair: 1995 Passenger Side Mirror - 626, keystone automotive, side mirror

Question
After 5 years of backing out of my driveway I finally knocked my passenger side mirror - the casing cracked and is now dangling off the side of the vehicle.  The mirror iteslf still seems to function.  Can I buy an aftermarket replacement or do I have to get a Mazda part?  And how do I install it myself?

Answer

The Mirror is available from many different sources and any common internet search will yield satisfying results. You can also buy them through NAPA and a company called Keystone Automotive Products who carries the cool view line of replacement mirrors.

I frankly prefer when people use a book "available at any auto parts store" because I do not get paid for this service and the book guys do. So when someone misinterprets my instructions and breaks something, I get criticized for free unlike the book guys who stick you on the endless wait 1-800 number until you give up. Frankly the pictures are also a big help and will diagram the process far better than words will describe.

It is an easy task and you should be able to do it in less than an hour start to finish.

John
