Mazda Repair: 97 miata mx5 power window not working., lake havasu city, lake havasu city arizona

Question
Hi John!  My passenger power window was hesitating to roll up, then one day it just quit rolling up.  I have checked that it isn't hanging up on anything, and I don't hear the little motor inside working. Both the driver and pass buttons are on the center console and the drivers window is working perfectly.  It's 115 degrees here now and I really need to get this window up so I am cooled by the AC!HHHHHHHHHHelp!
Thanks, Susie in Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Answer
Ahh, get a book for the car. Read section on center console removal. Remove said console, and swap connectors between the window switches. Does the window work when hooked to the drivers side switch? Does the driver’s side window now refuse to work? Replace switch, get cooled! IF not the case... Read section on door panel removal; remove said door panel, read section on window motor removal. Remove motor and replace, window should now work. If not "ARRRRRGGGGGGH!" there is a wiring dysfunction. Take to Mazda and let them fix it; get a loaner with good AC.
I have family in Mohave Valley right across from Laughlin; I know exactly what you are going through.

Regards,

John
