Mazda Repair: 1996 Mazda b2300 dies, mazda technicians, mazda dealer

Question
Hello,
My 96 b2300 with 150k miles started a few months ago to die when I would let the clutch out in reverse. Only if I were on a hill ect. when there was a little resistance in reverse it would die like you just turned off the key. Tach would just drop. You could restart and it would do it over and over until you got to where there was little to no resistance then it would move fine in reverse. It began to happen more often and then would do the same when I made a right turn that pushed up the right front end such as turning of a main road into a parking lot or something where the drive was raised. It would die and immediately start again. Now even sitting at a dead stop it will not easily start. It will turn over fine but seems like there is no fire. It may just be dumb luck but seems like it will start if I continue to change gears to reverse. Sometines it will try to start but just sputter a little and it will suddenly start and run fine. Turn it off and it has trouble starting again. Seems to be getting worse.
Sorry if I rambled on.
Thanks for your help.
Kevin

Answer
Hi Kevin Thanks for asking.
It sounds like you have an odd problem with your truck. I have seem a problem similar to yours though on a mazda pick up, But it was a b3000. They are just about the same anyhow. It sounds like you may have an electriacl problem. When you load up the engine it will twist the on the motor mounts, causing all the hoses and wiring harneses to move. You may have a bad connection somewhere or a broken or burnt wire. It is hard for me to tell you exactly what is wrong without looking at the vehicle. But finding and electrical problem like yours is definitly an advanced level problem. And you should have that looked at by somebody down in your area. It would probably be best to take it to the Mazda dealer because Mazda technicians are already most familiar with the electrical in these. So it wont take as long to find this problem.
Good luck
