QuestionQUESTION: Car: E Class W210 Model 2000
when i unlock the car with the remote control, the hazard lights flashes normally notifiying me that the doors are opened. but when i close the car using the remote control, it locks but the hazard lights does not flash, also the inside light of the car (cabin light) does not go off. please advise?
ANSWER: I have the same model, the cabin light stays on briefly then will go off check to make sure your cabin light is not on it is normal

i am very much aware that the light stays on for some time and then it goes off, i have been using this car for the past 10 years.
but now, it does not go off, i have checked all buttons when i keep it on (door), it stays on when i lock the car. also when i lock the car the outside lights (hazard) light does not flash but it flashes only when i unlock the car !
Answersounds like you have a wiring problem to the upper light cabin light it must be stuck on..i would check that witha multimeter or the button(switch)is stuck on on. as far as the lights going off. obviously on my 200 210 when i turn on the car unlockk it the lights go on when i turn off the car the lights go on .Do me a favor and turn on your hazard button and check if it is working constantly..some how the wiring or the bulbs are different or mixed up.It would be easier to diagnose witha multimeter .Also could be one of your door locks isnt engaging fully down which would cause the car to keep the light on.check the operation of each lock might want to lube them up check the freeplay.One thing you can do is lock the car and try to open up each door individually.
