Mercedes Benz repair: How do I install a rivet-type master link, routine replacement, dip type

Question
I'm working on my 1989 Mercedes 300SEL.  I found out (the hard way) with my '91 420SEL that routine replacement of the timing chain guide rails is essential (a broken guide, at 120,000 miles, caused the timing being thrown off, with resultant piston and valve collision).
My 300SEL has 230,000 miles on it, so I thought I'd replace the timing chain while I'm replacing the guides, tensioner rail, etc.  The replacement chain has a rivet-type master link, and I've never run into that before.  Is a special tool required?  If so, are there different sizes?  When I've tried to investigate "chain riveting tool" I find either motorcycle or bicycle stuff, never car information.
Any pointers or information would be appreciated.
Thanks.
