I would like to know where the knock sensor is located on a 2002 Nissan Quest mini van and how hard it will be to replace myself?

Nissan Hi Judy -

The knock sensor is usually located under the intake manifold, attached to the intake manifold. Look for the intake rubber boot (looks like an accordion) and it should be in that area, but attached to the engine. I have attached a picture of what it should look like (generic). Should have one or two wires connected to it.

Replacement itself is pretty basic, all you need is a wrench, or open end that fits the sensor. The difficult part would be the access as far as clearance. You may have to disconnect or remove other components to get to the sensor.

Do you have the Check Engine Light on?
