Mercedes Benz repair: windshield wiper motor, windshield wiper motor, wiper arm

wiper stops halfway through it's swipe and hums , do I need to replace the wiper motor and how easy is it, I plan to order the wiper motor in a couple days if needed.

Before you order a new motor, I would check the wiper arm linkage and see if they are catching on anything. Usually when a motor goes out, it does not work at all. One other thing to check is the little gear between the wiper arm and the motor. Sometimes the nut that holds the arm on will work its way loose and strip out that gear.

None of them are very difficult to replace.
