Mercedes Benz repair: 86 560sl with fast idle in park, mercedes benz 560sl, vacuum leaks

Question
The car has 119,000 miles, I had the alternator and battery replaced 2 days ago.  The fast idle in park didn't happen til the alternator went out and I thought it might improve when it was replaced but it didn't.  I'm in Kelso, WA, nearest to Portland Oregon. Thank you very much for your fast reply to my question.

I have a 1986 560SL.  The problem is it is idling extremely fast in park.  Then when I drive at 40 and up then let off the gas it wants to surge, when I slow down below 40 it stops surging.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated greatly.
