Mercedes Benz repair: head gasket, blown head gasket, timing chain cover

Mercedes-Benz 1991 300ce
when changeing the head gasket do I have to take the intake and exhast manifold off, to get the head off? What about the timing chain does that come off? If it does how do you take it off?

Yes, and yes.
Intake, exhaust manifold, cam shafts, cam gears and timing chain must come off to remove the head.
