MG Car Repair: carb question, car specialist, great shape

I am currently looking at buying a 1977 MG. I went and test drove it and noticed a couple of things. I was hoping you could answer my questions. All are carb related I think??
1. Has slow acceleration
2. Accelerator seems to stick and has to be pulled up with foot.
3. Can you give me an approximate estimate on cost to repair?
The guy is asking 2500.00 it over all seems to be in great shape. Just not sure what all is involved with may above questions.

Hi Al,
First you didn't tell me what kind of MG it was, but it does not matter as the cost to repair anything depends on what is wrong and second, who is repairing it and what they charge per hour. You need to find a local British car specialist and ask them to look at it and give you an estimate on repairs.
