MG Car Repair: 2000 Dodge Neon, dodge neon, blown fuse

Question
When I turn my head lights on low beam and try to hit the brights the right head light goes out. Come to find out the fuse was blowing. What could cause this problem?

Answer
I am not an expert on the Dodge Neon, so please do not rate me on this answer.

Most modern cars have 2 fuses for low beam and another 2 for high beam.  When a bulb blows, it briefly takes a high current which can blow a fuse.

If you replace the blown fuse, you will probably find that the main beam filament of the right headlamp has blown.

If you then replace the bulb, there is a good chance that everything will be OK again.
