MG Car Repair: anti runon valve, oil pressure switch, low oil pressure

Question
My 1976 MGB was running great yesterday but today as I tried to start it, it turns over then quickly stalls. I determined that there is a cloud clicking which I never heard before coming from the anti runon valve. The two wires to the valve seem to be connected well. There was never a hose attached to the bottom of the valve as I can stick my finger there and feel the pin and I can move it freely.

Answer
Hi Scott,
When the car has trouble starting try disconnecting the aintirunon valve wires to see if it will start. The fact that the valve was clicking indicates you have either a wiring failure in that system or the oil pressure switch is a problem or you have low oil pressure for some reason.
Let me know,
