Mitsubishi Repair: hydraulic clutch oil, hydraulic clutch, slave cylinder

Question
1994 pinin 2.0l equip.
seem to have low oil level in what i think is cluch res bottle, located on bulkhead in centre behind engine, find hard to select gear and change wilst engine running, is this a hydraulic clutch and what oil do i top up with? will gearbox oil do?

Answer
Iain,
It is an hydraulic clutch.  Usually the same fluid used for your brakes is used for the clutch, but check your owners manual to be sure.  This can be a result of air in the clutch fluid, worn slave cylinder, lack of transmission fluid, shifter linkage alignment, or worn synchronizes in the gearbox itself.  You may want to have a mechanic have a look.
Good luck!
