Mitsubishi Repair: 2001 Mitsubishi Magna TJ 3.5 Power steering cuts out, mitsubishi magna tj, cigarette lighter

Question
Over the past few months our Magna saloon auto has been occasionally cutting out when driving at slow speeds typical of a shopping centre car park - it's only momentary but cuts off the Power steering, we have had our radio fail, the cigarette lighter has failed and recently the cruise control won't engage. Could this be an electrical problem with the computer?

Answer
Geoff,
This may be an indication of a failing alternator.  At slower speeds (engine RPMs), a failing alternator will put our less current, and the electrical systems will not get the power they need to continue the car running proper; and hence stall.  Have your mechanic inspect and test the charging system, including the battery and alternator, and replace either if necessary.
Good luck!
