Mitsubishi Repair: car runs worse, mitsubishi eclipse gt, air fuel ratio

Question
My 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt  3.0 v6 has had alot of problems.lately with stutter problem. My car started stuttering when I was on the highway around 65-70 I couldn't down shift to speed up because.it would buck then after a second it would kick in. I recently left.my car sitting for 2 days and went out to start it and it would.just turn over and not start so I took the spark.plugs.out and I had flooded it so I changed all the wires and plugs and ran compression test and all fine so I got it to finally run but now instead of the bucking and stuttering at high speeds it does the opposite now.it idols rough and skips then when I take.off it bucks until I get.to 40 miles an hr thn it runs fine... I brought it to the garage they inspected my distributor cap and.rotor and said.it.was.fine.. so im lost and.I seem to think it may be a coil? Any suggestions please help

Answer
Amanda,
It may be a bad coil or improper ignition timing.  Though if you are not noticing the check engine light coming on, then there may be an issue somewhere in the intake system; like within the throttle body.  Fooled spark plugs indicates a rich air/fuel ratio, and perhaps a lack of air getting to the engine.  Even a clogged or very dirty air filter can cause this.  Have your mechanic inspect your air intake system and see if they find any problem there.
Good luck!
