Mitsubishi Repair: 1991 Pajero with HKS Turbo Timer, remote starter installations, turbo timer

Question
I have a 1991 Pajero diesel equiped with a HKS brand turbo timer. The timer itself never worked from when I bought the vehicle, but the display lite up still. I decided that since it was of no use and because it was mounted on top of the steering colom restricting it from tilting completely up and down, I would disconnect it. So I did. Now the Pajero won't start. I plugged it back into the harness again figuring that it would be like it was before and run, but nothing. The display on the hks unit doesn't even light up now. I checked for power going into the unit and it is fine. So now I don't know where to go next. Is there some way of getting around this unit?? Thanks

Answer
Warren,
It sounds like that turbo timer was connected through your ignition harness.  The best approach would be identify the appropriate ignition wires that went to your timer and reconnect them directly to the ignition harness.  With a little searching, you should be able to find the appropriate wiring diagram for your vehicle.  Many places that offer remote starter installations can also provide that information.
Good luck!
