Subaru Repair: BRAKES, rear rotors, low beams

Question
QUESTION: i have a 2005 subaru legacy 62,390 miles on it.  I drive a combination of city and country driving.
At 39,000 I had the front and rear brake pads replaced and the rotors all machined.  The work was done at a dealer. I now have 62,400 miles on it.  It is stating to sound like it may need brakes again, the tires have a slight wobble feel when I stop. Is this average?

Also i had to have the low beams replaced at 62,000.  Again is this average?
Thanks for any information that you can give me.

ANSWER: I need a little information if you can.  When you had the brake work done were the rotors replaced, turned (machined), or left alone?  Were the parts genuine Subaru parts? Sometimes the dealer uses aftermarket parts, so make sure. If you feel a wobble or a shake when you apply your brakes, your rotors are warped.  I have seen in my experience both front and rear rotors can be warped at the same time, making it often impossible to tell which ones are warped. If you only had the headlamps replaced, that is not uncommon. Get back and I will try to answer promptly!  Hope I can help!

QUESTION: The rotors were machined.  I believe the brakes were original equipment, the part numbers are 2629fe081 and 26696ag010

Answer
Since the rotors were machined I would say this is not an uncommon problem. When you turn the rotors they will get thinner and be easier to heat up, when they get hot the surface warps.  This is where you get your shake, when you apply you brakes.  I would recommend replacing the rotors and pads at every brake change.  Also check your owners manual, I think it calls for flushing your brake fluid, this will in prove brake performance, and keep you calipers working smoothly.  Hope you get it all worked out!
