Mitsubishi Repair: Speedometer, gas gauge, eclipse gs

Question
I am about to buy a 1997 Eclipse GS and everything in the meter range does not work: speedometer, odometer, and I'm not sure but I don't think the gas gauge is working either. When I was test driving it the mileage did not budge nor did the speedometer, but the tach worked just fine. Can you tell me how to fix any of this??? I COMPLETELY forgot how; I learned it all about 3 years ago and never did any follow-up work

Answer
Christian,
I can't really tell how to fix this, but you want to investigate the instrument panel.  You'll probably want to pull it and check to see all the connections are properly secure.  Not only will you want to inspect the connections on the gauges, you may also have problems with the sending units.  If you have a service manual, you'll want to reference that.  If the odometer isn't working, then you won't even know how many miles are truly on the car.  I hope you're getting a great deal :)
Good luck!
