Mitsubishi Repair: squeaky something on 2002 eclipse spider, silicone spray, cv joint

Question
Something has started squeaking in my car, but it seems to quiet down when I press on the gas or accelerate. It seems to get worse when the car is cold and/or it is wet or damp outside. What could be the cause?  Can I fix it with cooking spray? Is it something I can take care of myself? Thanks.

Answer
Lisa,
This is probably something you can take care yourself, unless the problem is a worn swaybar linkage bushing or CV joint.  For that, have your mechanic look into it.  If you can pin point where the squeaking is coming from, it may just some sticking weatherstripping.  In that case, you can try to use some silicone spray to easy the noise.  Cooking spray may work, but would wash away very easily.
Good luck!
