Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse, mitsubishi eclipse gt, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
Hi, I have two questions. First, I am looking at buying a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gt and I test drove it today and it has an oil leak. How much would it cost to repair this? And second the tires are worn, how much would the tires cost for this type of car?

Thanks, Jacob

Answer
Jacob,
Fixing an oil leak can vary widely in price; depending on where the leak is coming from.  A very rough estimate can be anywhere from $100-$500 depending on parts and labor necessary.

The price of tires varies widely as well.  For most tire retail shops, it'll average around $150 per tire (so about $600 for 4 new tires installed).  Another option is buying tires from a wholesaler like www.tirerack.com.  They can offer prices from around $70 per tire and up.  You can have the tires shipped to a garage near you to have them installed.  Most garages charge around $20 per tire to mount and balance new tires.
Good luck!
