Mitsubishi Repair: talon, head gasket, pullys

ok i have a 94 eagle talon with a 2.0 dohc no turbo wiht a manual transmission my question is can i just put the 1st piston to tdc and put on the cam belt pullys with their marks or what i have the head off to check the head, valves, head gasket, and everything else  i am just not for sure onhow to reset my timing so i dont bend valves or make the car not run rights its all new so i just need some help on that if you can its the same motor as the eclipses and stuff so i figuyred you could help me i would need this info asap thanks alot cody

With the 1st piston and TDC, you'll also need to align the cam gears so all the valves are closed.  You'll also need to make sure the crankshaft gear is aligned with it's TDC timing mark.  You can reference the following diagram which illustrates the timing marks for a 2G (95-99) Eclipse/Talon.
