its in safe mode is there anything i can do to possibly fix . is there a common problem with them i can try dont have the money to put in shop

If you're in safe mode, there's little you can do as far as fix until you learn what is actually wrong.  You would at least want to have a transmission shop inspect it to tell you what the problem is.  Odds are, it's probably something that you would not be able to fix.  I do not know of any transmission issue that is common to the 3000GTs.
