Mitsubishi Repair: 1992 misubishi galant (wont start), bad god, wifes car

My wifes car ran fine going to work but on the wat home she stopped at the p.o. and then it won't start. it has plenty of gas and spark to the coil and plugs.It also has compression to the cyclinders, also fuel shoots out of the top of the fuel filter when we crank it over with the line loose.It has an eci multi system.

Larry: Sounds like the computer is bad, your car is the right year for the bad computers. You know don't you that the computer controls everything in that car. And sometimes those computer just go out like a light. Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company which did not build very good ones. With time a piece in the computer starts to die, as it does it leaks into the computer. So the computer sometimes slowly dies or sometimes it just dies. You could try to code the computer to see what it might kick out at you. Or you could just either have the computer rebuilt or replaced. Oh one more thing you could try is to unhook the neg cable off the battery, wait 5 minutes and put it back on; then see if the car might start. Sometimes that will work for a few times, as you reset the computers. But if that does not work, I would say the computer is bad. God bless: Lin
