Mitsubishi Repair: 1st generation Eclipse manual transmission, plymouth laser, eagle talon

I recently rebuilt my '93 Eclipse with the 4G63, but the transmission I had would grind shifting into 3rd gear. I wanted to know if the manual transmission off of the 1st gen 1.8 would fit my 2.0? Didn't know if would, looks similar, but don't want to buy it then it not fit.

I don't for sure if a tranny from a 1.8L engine would fit on your 2.0 engine, but I'm sure it could be modified if it doesn't.  But to be safe, I would look for a tranny from another 2.0L engine to ensure an absolute fit.  Keep in mind that a 2.0L transmission from a 91-94 Eclipse, Eagle Talon, or Plymouth Laser should all fit.  So this many open up your options.
