Mitsubishi Repair: 86 Colt stuck in park, temperature variations, shift lock

I have an 86 Colt that is stuck in park. I have been told that is the parking pin that is stuck? Any ideas how to fix this?

If your vehicle is equipped with a "release" or "override" button then it is almost certain the problem is with the shift lock solenoid. A failing solenoid can be affected by temperature variations. The solenoid would be what moves the pin to a lock and unlock position.  You'll want a mechanic to inspect this on your car for determine the proper fix.
