Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi Maintenance, synthetic engine oil, mitsubishi pajero

Question
Hi,

I own the following Vehicle type:

2 Door Mitsubishi Pajero (SWB) Late 1999 model with new shape,
3.5L V6 GDI engine.
Chassis#: V65W0001023
4-speed automatic Trans
(Vehicle was purchased from a Japanese auction and shipped to me in the Caribbean - Antigua)

If I may, I would like to Pose a few questions:

1) Are there downloadable manuals available for my vehicle that would cover regular maintenance schedules, Part numbers and other information that would allow me to keep my vehicle in top running shape?

2) Can you suggest any forums that I should join to meet people and discuss my particular vehicle type.

3) I would like to regularize a schedule for my vehicle care, could you suggest a maintenance schedule for my vehicle? Maybe recommended tweaks for better performance, preferred brands oil etc from your years of experience?

I hope that I have posed my question in an acceptable format.

Cheers,

Mr. Leslie Nanton

Answer
Leslie,
The following site you can refer to for the intervals recommended by Mitsubishi for servicing:
http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/owners/both.do

Note that all intervals are in miles, so you may need to convert to kilometers.  Your owners manual should also provide information on recommended service intervals.

You may have a problem finding a downloadable manual.  But you can try the following link to see if you have any luck:

The following forum is geared specifically for Pajero owners:

I've never owned a Pajero (or Montero that they call it in the US), so I don't know of too many performance enhancements for it.  But for all my cars, I've always used a full synthetic engine oil to help maintain nominal engine performance.

Good luck!
