Mitsubishi Repair: dead battery, mitsubishi montero sport, 2001 mitsubishi montero

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi montero sport, i have replaced the alternator and the battery, within a week. The car still dies on me while i'm driving it. I to it to and electrical shop the said the alternator was good. Good i have a bad fuse on my car, or could it be the starter. someone said it might be my voltage regulator. How do i now if it's that and how do i check for a bad fuse. i have box by the battery and one inside the car.

Shon: Got an AutoZone close by? If so go there and get your car coded, the computer in your car controls everything along with many sensors through out the engine. If there is a problem with things the computer should know and will kick something out on a print out. I believe in your year car the voltage regulator is part of the alternator, so if the alternator is good so is the regulator. If you had a bad fuse on your car that had to do with the starting or on that order the car would not start. Because when a fuse goes, it burns out and so the power can not move through the line without a good fuse. But the way to check fuses is to take the out and look at them. If burnt out the fuse would be black on the bottom and be missing a leg or a piece of it. Oh heck it is hard to explain but if you look at a bad one I am pretty sure you would know it was bad. To me your problem sounds like a bad sensor or a weak one and that is the reason to have the car coded. Watcj yourself with people giving you ideas on what "could be" wrong. If you can not find the problem yourself put the car into a shop, they will find it right off the bat and save you from replacing things that did not need to be replaced. Oh yes AutoZone will code your car for free, then you could see if the computer knows anything about your problem with the car. God bless: Linda
