Mitsubishi Repair: 03 Lancer OZ brake light fuse blows when it rains, light fuse, wires and cable

My neighbor has an 03 Mitsu that he replaced the P/S taillight assy on because it was cracked, and now the stop lamp fuse blows every time it rains. Any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with the electrical schematic for the Lancer, but it sounds like there's a short somewhere in the circuit.  I'm not sure why it only happens when it rains, but that could be due to poor sealant around the lamp and water soaking in.  You can test this by spraying a garden hose at the lamp and be on the lookout for water seeping in.  Also inspect the wires and cable harness for bare wires or bent pins in the harness.
