Mitsubishi Repair: hood not opening autmatically in eclipse spider year 98, latch, fuses

Question
I kept a heavy bed on the hood and since then it does not work automatically, I have to manually operate the same.
Please sugesst what could have gone wrong.

Sk:You could have bent the latch, don't know the year or model of this car but you might try to loosen the bolts holding the latch and move it a bit. Yet check it too, to see if it is bent. The cable might have come loose, or is to loose to do much as to when you pull the switch or whatever you do to open the hood automatically and so you will need to replace the cable. Again they do with time wear out. Still to get the cable replaced a shop will have to do that for you. Could be the switch its self is bad too. Have you checked fuses to see if you might have blew any of them or if one controls this. Again I am only throwing this ideas out to you, because without a year, model it is hard to know. If nothing else let a shop find your problem and they can fix it for you. God bless: Linda
