Answer
Amber: I hope you have been doing your engine repair with a repair manual, because there are things to be done before removing that crankshaft from the engine. But number one thing is the engine must be removed from the car before you try to get that shaft off. You must have removed the rear main oil seal housing must be unbolted and separated from the block before proceeding with the crankshaft removal. Then you need to check the endplay before moving that crankshaft too. You need to mount a dial indicator with the stem in line with the crankshaft and just touching one of the crank throws. You need that repair manual to walk you through all this... most parts stores sell them for around $20.00 and well worth the money. Try to buy a Haynes more pictures and less engines. But only when you do everything that the manual tell you to do can you remove that shift and I am not going to write it all down for you. It is something you need to read, understand and then do it. If you get lost the manual would explain what and how to do something. So get that repair manual. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
